The dry fruit bar
Los Pirineos is a know farm to us. We have had coffees from the Family Baraona before with great sucess. Unfortunately Gilberto passed away in 2020 and now his chrildren Diego and Fabiola has taken over and manage the farm.
The farm is a family owned business and has been this for 130 years with a strong tradition in Speciality Coffee. Gilberto was one of the most renowed coffee producers in El Salvador having won numerous awards in the world of speciality coffee.
This coffee is anerobe orange bourbon and is in the family with red bourbon & yellow bourbon.
The bourbon variety has a smooth velvey mouthfeel and this is one of the reasons my priorities for purchasing coffees is from El Salvador and Costa Rica.
The mouthfeel reminds me of Pinot Noir - the acidity is not overwhelming, but smooth and round, and yet very distinct.
